Leaving the Big Smoke

After our Pamper Day, we were picked up by our guide, along with 8 others, in a mini bus. Our excellent drivers name was Paul. We headed out through Arequipa's outer areas to the Colca Valley. This is an agricultural region that was terraced in pre-Inka times with life and farming following pre-industrial methods - not a tractor in sight Mike 🚜 We visited a village market and got to mingle with the locals.

Time to go home...

...and we checked into our hotel, had a trek through the fields behind it and finished the day with a visit to some volcanic hot springs and an Alpaca BBQ.

I met her in the field and she was very proud to show me her 3 skirts - the best one was kept at the bottom
