Mothers' Day started with an early cuppa, breakfast and an explore of our surroundings at Shakspear Bay, named after the owners of the land before it became a National Park and no relation to a famous playwright. Whilst exploring I foraged for our daily greens, sorrel & plantain. I could even have gleaned wool that was caught on the wire fences, if I had no yarn. At dusk we found our way to Tawharanui Marine Reserse (these Maori names do my head in).
