Germany - so strangely different from where we've been, yet so familiar!

It's summer here and, just for the climate change skeptics, hotter than I ever remember it to be in my childhood. In fact, it is hotter here than in the Amazon Basin. Darwin and Stuttgart have the same temperatures all week, except Stuttgart is twice as humid, plus Germany has just implemented level 5 fire restrictions!

However the sights and tastes of my childhood remained the same and it is wonderfully grounding to be immersed in them again.
